Wandering up to see Rita the Rock Planter

Sometimes, wandering can be close to home. Thomas Dambo, a Danish recycle artist who has created huge troll sculptures around the world, built one in Victor, Colorado, about an hour from where I live. She’s “Rita the Rock Planter” and, according to Dambo, after the humans mined for gold, there were lots of holes left. Rita, concerned for the humans’ safety, decided to put the rocks back in.

My brother was visiting, and we decided that a visit to Rita would be a unique experience for him. Of course, I took pictures, and not all of Rita. If you look beyond Rita, you can see the Cripple Creek-Victor Gold Mine in the distance.
